A nonprofit collaborative venture of the City of San Antonio, City Public Service, Bexar County, San Antonio Water System, Alamo Area Council of Governments, VIA Metropolitan Transit, Greater Bexar County Council of Cities, and Solar San Antonio.
Mission
In the context of a growing population, increasing pollution, and reduced energy security, our local leaders created the Metropolitan Partnership for Energy (MPE) to bring sound energy policy to the San Antonio region.
MPE’s programs are designed to benefit the environment, the economy, and the welfare of our citizens. Its mission is to protect and enhance quality of life by providing energy leadership, expertise and education, and by developing regionally cooperative programs for the wise, efficient and sustainable use of energy.
Goals
- Assist partners with Texas Senate Bill 5 complianceIncrease public awareness about energy efficiency and renewable energy;
- Promote Build San Antonio Green to builders, lenders and potential home buyers;
- Promote the use of renewable and alternative energy such as solar, wind, and fuel cells;
- Conduct annual Energy Leadership Conference covering a wide range of energy and green buidling issues.
